Common Shop is a 50% Clear One Face cuttings grade.

Common Shop boards are selected for shorter Clear One Face cuttings, maximizing raw material value, which makes them well-suited for finger-jointed panels, furniture, and other applications.

6′ (1.83m) minimum

Width Specs:

4.5″ (114mm) minimum
With up to 5% narrows

Cutting Specs:

3″ x 24″ (76mm x 610mm) Clear One Face

Cutting Specs in 4/4 and 5/4 only:

3″ x 18″ (76mm x 46mm) finger-joint cuttings are allowed
3″ x 18″ (76mm x 46mm) Clear Two Face cuttings are accepted

Notes:

This grade admits all boards of two feet (610mm) and over surface measure yielding not less than 50% Clear One Face cuttings with the reverse side of the cuttings being a sound cutting.

SIDE BEND is limited to 1″ (25mm). PIN KNOTs are not considered defect.
