CAB grade Alder is a grade designed for both two-faced and single-faced applications. It contains a mix of boards with both clear two-face and clear one-face applications. Cabinet manufacturers like CAB as allows them to make face frames and doors at lower unit costs by selecting the one-face boards for face frames and two-face boards for cabinet doors. It is also good for furniture that requires some clear two-face components while also allowing components that only have one good face.
